COMMUNITY ART PROJECT
Get involved in our Community ART and RE-CYCLING project!
We're inviting local schools and community groups to help create a town-wide art installation made from decorated, re-cycled CDs.
Whether you just want to donate your old, unwanted discs for someone else to paint, or get a group of friends together for a painting session - Everyone’s invited to take part!
We’ll start to display bunting and sculptures made from your decorated CDs at the Charter Fair on 4th May 2026, and then add more around town in the weeks building up to the Fringe Festival weekend on 3-5 July.
We’re excited to see what you create - Let’s make Haslemere shine!
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
DONATE YOUR UNWANTED CD'S
IF YOU HAVE SOME UNWANTED CD'S THAT YOU'D LIKE TO DONATE, YOU CAN DROP THEM OFF AT PLANET OF SOUNDS OR GALLERY 13.
IF YOU HAVE A LARGE QUANTITY, WE'LL HAPPILY ARRANGE COLLECTIONS IN THE LOCAL AREA.
WHAT TO PAINT ON, AND WHAT PAINT TO USE
YOU CAN USE ANY KIND OF CD, DVD, CDROM OR GAME DISC.
YOU CAN USE ANY FORM OF MATERIAL FOR DECORATION, INCLUDING PAINT, SHARPIES, POSCA PENS, STRING, BEADS OR ANYTHING ELSE YOU LIKE.
PLEASE SEAL YOUR FINISHED ARTWORK TO MAKE WATERPROOF WITH A VARNISH.

ONCE YOUR CD'S ARE DECORATED YOU CAN DROP THEM OFF AT A VARIETY OF LOCAL SHOPS IN HASLEMERE.
